2013 is going to be one hell of a year musically. Some serious releases have happened already and it’s not even spring yet! We have already heard new singles from synthpop leaders Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk’s Karl Bartos and now OMD can be added to the list. They have finally released their new single Metroland from the upcoming album, English Electric. In the weeks leading up to the new single the band released a series of interludes that will appear on the new record. The short musical segments featured experimental sounds and animation clips. Metroland remains true to the synthpop sound. It is a deep and brutally honest song disguised as a playful dance tune. Welcome to Metroland! I plan on staying a while.
